How to increase your productivity and not waste time? by Pilar Ortiz

Do you do tons of things a day, but in the end, you don't finish any of them?

Time management is an important skill that contributes to the consolidation of our personal and professional projects. Just as we must manage the money that enters our company or that we earn, we must manage the resource of time.

Unfortunately, we live in a world saturated with information and activities. We are constantly exposed to the telephone, the computer, traffic, meetings, etc. And we feel we can do everything, but we finish the day with endless unfinished tasks.

This is the dynamic of a regular day. Jumping from one place to another, from one activity to another. Writing half an email, making a phone call, and posting something on social networks, all in a row, but nothing related to each other.

We believe that multitasking saves our lives when it is proven that our brain cannot do two or more things at the same time, and if it does, believe me, it will not do it with excellence.

We lose focus, for a few minutes, on a single activity. What is worse, we end up feeling guilty because we were not productive enough in the day. We feel that the problem is that we are not skilled enough to do many things at the same time.

So, let me break this bottle that you may be in today, with a technique that will help you achieve better productivity levels in your day.

To apply it, all you need is a stopwatch and a commitment to disconnect for a few minutes from everything that distracts you.

The Pomodoro Technique, as it is known, is used to do activities in a specific period, such as answering emails, writing a text, or making a proposal. What you should do is to establish a time in your day, it can be 30 or 45 minutes, where your attention will be completely focused on the one task.

Take out of the picture everything that normally distracts you. Put your phone on silent, turns off notifications, stay away from messages, and prioritize. Everything can wait, even the important stuff. Stop pretending that everything is ready at the same time. Everything will flow step by step. The important thing is to make the decision.

You can do the Pomodoro several times a day, always with a pause in between. I recommend two or even three times. And you mustn't make it a burden. Little by little you will be able to implement it. Do not pretend that overnight you can focus on one thing as if you had done it all your life. Everything requires perseverance and patience.

If you are one of those who feel overwhelmed by day-to-day tasks, apply this technique and tell me on my social networks how you are doing with it and if it works for you. Don't forget to share this blog with others. The more geniuses reached, the better.
