3 steps to increase your credibility by Pilar Ortiz
Credibility is the foundation of trust. Without it, a client can't buy or promote you for the position of your dreams.
If they don't believe you, your words and efforts are in vain. It is essential to build credibility and position yourself as an expert that people can trust.
How do you do it? Well, if you want to know three practical keys to increase credibility, read on.
But, before, I want you to remember that what you project should represent who you are. If you want others to see you as trustworthy, be a trustworthy person. Align your values with what you are projecting today.
Now let's get started:
1. Let the value perceived by others correspond to the unique value you want to give:
Do you recognize what differentiates you from the competition?
All people are different and have something that makes them unique and special. Take advantage of that and think about those strengths that make you different from others. Once you have defined them, reflect on them through your communication, image, and actions.
It is essential that you also believe in yourself.
If you don't believe in your genius, no one else will. The first person who should appreciate that value is you. If others perceive you as confident, they will trust you.
2. Charge for what you do: As hard as it is to believe, many professionals do not charge for their services or charge low. This does not help to build credibility.
By not charging, people's perception would be that what you offer is of inferior quality or you are not sure of your value. If this is perceived in this way, you take the risk of losing customers and opportunities.
I do not mean you should charge through the roof. Just put a price according to the effort you invest.
If you decide not to charge, do it because it is part of your strategy and not because you are afraid of charging what is fair.
Remember, fear is perceived, and if you are afraid, what can the client expect from you? That is why you mustn't hesitate when giving your prices.
3. Testimonials, let others talk about you: There is nothing better than having others promote you through their own experiences. A happy client or boss will promote you and refer you to whoever they meet.
Collect those testimonials and integrate them into your message. It is very effective when others are talking about the transformation and results they achieved with you. Having others speak nicely of you builds trust and credibility.
